Not going to get another lizard for a while. Maybe a day gecko in the future, or even an iguana if it'd get along with the cat. But not for a while.

Doing great on the diet. Blood sugar has been in the 93-115 range over the past few days, except at Meltdown where it was 120-124 (not too bad, considering). I lost a pound and a half in the first week, even with Meltdown... but where it comes to weight I don't trust small differences very much. Maybe I actually gained half a pound or lost three, who knows? More time will tell.

We had our "convert everybody to 3.5 edition" session in Jeff's D&D campaign last night. 29 point buy, which was lower than I'd hoped, but more money for equipment than I expected (particularly because I forgot to even factor in Phred making items). I seriously considering blowing a whole lot of it on Wings of Flying for the ultimate in mobility, but found many other things to spend it on that I didn't feel were worth sacrificing. Made a last-minute decision not to use the everburning chain, but I need a non-munchkin name for my adamantine +1 flaming screaming sweeping spiked chain. ;)

I rolled *really* poorly for hit points -- in the top 70% of my class, heh. As a result, Yana (supposedly a hard-to-kill, tough as nails tank) has fewer hit points than Marabi (a dancer for crying out loud). And is not much taller either, though a good deal heavier. And is really, really bad at intimidating people, which is a shame considering the personality I worked out for her. Ah well. She'll be good at making people lie facedown in the dirt without their weapons, anyway. :)

Metafilter had a post yesterday about the EGL ("Elegant Gothic Lolita") look that's growing in Japan. As long as they're going more into the E or G than the L, I like it very much... sort of like Death from Sandman, or Edward Gorrey type stuff. Victorian.

Thinking about this sort of thing makes me wish I looked good, heh. I can't picture myself dressing up in pirate shirts and leather pants and wearing a top hat. Uh-uh.
